Numeracy - We focused on patterns by making patterns using colored shoes, hair styles, and boys and girls. I would make a pattern and have the students guess what I was using to make a pattern. The class also made pattern mobiles created by stamps. We will continue patterns next week by making more complex patterns.
Science - We discussed properties of matter (solid, liquid, and gas). We sorted pictures cards as a class, and demonstrated air by blowing up a balloon and watching it deflate. The students loved letting go of the balloon and watching it fly away.

Reading and Writing - We read a a story about the letter Ee called Enormous Elephant Show. The students were asked to identify words and pictures with the letter y while I read the story. I also read sight word books to the students.

Next week we are focusing on:
Literacy: letter Qq
Mathematics: Patterns
Science: States of Matter (solid, liquid, gas)
