Field Trip to the Al Ain Heritage Museum November 18, 2014

This week we went on a field trip the to Al Ain Heritage Museum. The students looked at ancient relics, and watched films depicting the past. 

 

Week of November 9, 2014

This week the students focused on two letters Cc and Kk. The focus vocabulary of the week: 

Cc - cookie, camel, carrot, cat, cake, cucumbers,

Kk - khandoura, kitten, king, kite, key, kids, 

The students talked about long and short in math. We measured objects using camel counters, frogs, links, and connecting cubes. 

Here are the activities for the week.

Matching cards based on heritage for the theme My Country

Getting ready to create caterpillars for the letter Cc.

 Linking camels together for long and short.

Creating a car and caterpillars with shapes.

Sorted the frogs by color, and then counted out the groups.

 Playing in the heritage area.

 Painting with cotton balls, and clothespins for the letter Cc.

Making Khandoura dolls for the letter Kk

 Finding the letter Cc and Kk in print.

 Making pictures of people.

 How many students did it take to measure the length of the link chain? 7

The students really enjoyed this activity.

 Having bicycle races outside

 Making kites for the letter Kk.

Making cucumber, carrot, and cream cheese sandwhiches.

 Eating food with Cc and Kk.

Making crowns for letter Cc.

 Playing on the playground. The students love climbing on the jungle gym.
