Each week I feel your child's English keeps improving. I am able to understand their wants and needs a majority of the time. The students try their best to use as many English words with me as they can when trying to tell me what is on their mind. In Literacy we worked on the letter A, created pictures based on the letter A, and tried to make an alligator out of a letter A cutout. The focus vocabulary for
the week; alligator, ant, astronaut, abaya, airplane, apple, arrow, ambulance, and avocado.
In
Mathematics we sorted objects based on size and used measurement terms
such as tall/short and long/short. Students used yarn that was cut to the height of each student so they could see what they are taller or shorter than. In Science we
focused on living and non-living things sorting pictures, and created a picture of things that were alive. In Reading and
Writing we read the story "I Can Do It" and
answered questions about the story using the workbook pages. As always thank you so much for helping your child with the homework sent home. I know some of the work can be challenging, and I appreciate your help in completing the workbooks with your child. This week I also sent home an English book with a workbook companion for your child to draw their favorite part of the story. I got some really nice drawings back! I will be sending home an English book every Sunday or Monday.
Next week we are focusing on:
Literacy: letter Cc
Mathematics: Measurement (weighing heavy and light objects)
