Working hard and trying to have fun!

This week went by quickly. The students are working really hard in class, and learning new concepts. Thank you very much for helping out with the workbook homework. The pages required a lot of writing, and a lot of support. If you have not sent back the homework, please try to complete it by Sunday. I do know it was a lot of work to complete in one evening so I understand that it was not returned the following day. 

In English literacy we read the story In the Garden, a poem about Me, and One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish. The letter of the week was Ss, with vocabulary words being sandcastle, sun, star, seashell, souk, socks, scorpion, snake, and smile. In Mathematics we worked on counting again, and match numbers to pictures. The students are improving on counting to 10 or beyond. Counting backwards is still tricky for most of the students so we will continue to work on that skill. 

Next week we will be focusing on the letter Ff, patterns, and day and night. If you have anything that begins with the letter Ff and would not mind sharing with the class, that would be greatly appreciated.
