Week of October 20th 2013

After a nice Eid break the students were ready to learn. This week went by quickly. In literacy we focused on the letter T, the sight word the, and read a picture story called "Oh Dear Me I'm Late For Tea." In Mathematics we continued to focus on patterns by creating and extending AAB and AABB patterns. We also continue to count to 100 every day and work on number sense. In Science we focused on different types of weather and the characteristics of weather. 

Next week we will work on the letter N, patterns using size, shape, and color, and seasons.

Field Trip to the Park

This week we took a field trip to the Women's and Children's park to help us gain experience for next week's theme focusing on Our Playground. The students had a wonderful time playing outside, but I had to keep reminding them to take a break every so often since it was heating up. I tried to get a picture of all the students in our class, but some of them move so fast that it makes picture taking impossible.
